Oh ffs, does everything need a privacy policy these days?
Seems so, according to the ICO...
so, here's mine!
It's short, easy to read, and not a data collection horror show like everyone else's!
My website uses Umami analytics, so I can see how many of you lovely folks are actually reading my stuff!
These are fully anonymised and privacy respecting, and only ever include;
- Your IP address and its general location in the world
(not very accurate location either, it thinks I'm in Birmingham!) - What kind of device you're using - your User Agent
(helps me make this site work better for you!) - How you ended up here in the first place
(from Google, social media, or did you get here directly?)
I don't use any cookies on this site, nor do I track your activity outside of this site.
You can check that yourself, or just take my word for it :)
All of this data is stored securely on servers here at nycto HQ, and it's NEVER shared with anyone else.
Not in 'the cloud', not Google, not anybody.
It's also deleted automatically every 60 days :)
IP addresses and user agents may also be collected by my network's edge firewall, and by Crowdsec running on it.
These automatically detect and minimise the impact of attacks on my online services, and apply traffic shaping to give everyone a fair share of my limited internet bandwidth :)
If you have any questions or problems with any of this, please contact me and I'll be happy to assist!
now, that's enough of all that!
Go get yourself a brew :)
